Dr. Ed Garnes Wins Black Podcasting Award
Dr. Ed Garnes takes home the win for Best Guest Appearance at the Black Podcasting Awards (BPAwards) for his appearance on How Y’all Healing. The awards reached a new milestone, bringing dozens of podcasters and fans together in Baltimore for its first-ever in-person ceremony, held during the Afros & Audio Podcast Festival. The standing-room crowd filled the historic Motor House’s Black Box Theater to honor the voices shaping Black podcasting from indie creators and breakout shows to leaders redefining the medium itself.

The Global Art Fair Sees Sellout Crowd
Dr. Ed Garnes delivered an address and performed poetry at The Global Art Fair (TGAF).TGAF is a multidisciplinary and multicultural art fair hosted annually within the City of North Charleston. Founded by arts industry leader, pioneer, and Charleston native Okeeba Jubalo as a means to showcase a myriad of low-country and south-eastern creatives who deserve a world-class platform.

Dr. Ed Garnes, the 2024 recipient of the Allyship Award, presented the 2025 Allyship Award to Jamil Jude, Artistic Director at Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theater in Atlanta, as well as the Co-Founder of The New Griots Festival.
